The Escape Button™ by Shomer-Tec represents the new “cutting edge of covert”. It’s a unique escape & evasion cutting tool whose innovative design enables an extremely high probability of withstanding a search by captors.

It appears as a regular clothing button, drawing no attention. It’s manufactured from a standard mil-spec 3/4 inch diameter plastic BDU button.

It does, however, have one little feature that makes it a bit different from other buttons — it can instantly transform into a knife with a fiercely aggressive serrated blade!

Running your fingernail along the button’s perimeter causes the blade to pivot out of the button’s interior. The button now functions as the knife handle, providing a positive grip with excellent control. Despite its tiny size, the 7/16 inch serrated 1095 steel blade offers extreme cutting ability which can cut zip-ties, cord, rope, tape, organic materials, etc., increasing your chances of escape.

The Escape Button™ typically is sewn onto clothing, although it can also be carried inconspicuously in a pocket. Use low breaking-strength thread and install in locations that the button can be reached and yanked off even while your wrists are bound behind your back — areas such as waistband, back or leg pockets, or pant leg hem (just bend your knee up to bring the button right to your hands).
