Made in the past as part of our La Caja travel kits, we’ve gotten a lot of requests for more of these, so we knocked out a limited drop. This batch uses vintage Liberty Head Nickels from 1873 - 1913. Each one features 38” of high test Technora cordage with epoxy sealed knotted ends. This version also includes rare earth magnetic jewelry clasps that can be used to wear the piece as a bracelet or fastened to your gear. It can also be used as a friction saw for escape situations or even an emergency restraint.

Technora Info:

• Tensile Strength: 1545 lbs for 1/8” version and 2540 lbs for 3/16” version

• Strong and light: weight for weight, Technora is 8 times stronger than steel and 3 times stronger than fiberglass, polyester or nylon yarns.

• Fatigue Resistance: Shows little loss of strength even during repeated abrasion, flexing and stretching

• Stability: Stiff and highly oriented molecular structure leads to a high modulus of elasticity, low creep and low stress relaxation. Low thermal shrinkage

• Heat Resistance: Thermal decomposition threshold of 930F, so Technora can be used at 392F for long periods. At 482F, it maintains more than half of its room-temperature tensile strength

• Chemical resistance: Highly resistant to acids, alkalis and organic solvents; not vulnerable to damage caused by steam or sea water
